Validation Criteria



The DCC Steering Committee developed a baseline phenotyping protocol to be carried out on all mouse models of diabetic complications. The phenotyping is done over a 25 week time frame were samples are taken at 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24 and 25 weeks of age.



The DCC Cardiovascular committee developed a series of critieria to evaluate the mouse models as they relate to Diabetic Cardiovascular disease. This criteria defines what measurements must be taken in order to assess this phenotype.



The DCC Nephropathy committee developed a series of critieria to evaluate the mouse models as they relate to Diabetic Nephropathy disease. This criteria defines what measurements must be taken in order to assess this phenotype.
