Characterization of cellular and molecular heterogeneity in human diabetic foot ulcers
The long-term goal of this project is to define the cellular and molecular heterogeneity within human diabetic foot ulcers. We will employ state-of-the-art technologies to identify cells based on unbiased flow cytometry and genomic methods. We will use innovative microscopy methods to locate cell types in 3D tissues. Our team has the expertise to use these innovative tools to make unprecedented discovery of cell types and molecules in diabetic skin wounds to provide additional experimental avenues and therapeutic targets for chronic skin wounds.
